Filmmaker James Scott made this study of the British artist David Hockney at work in April 1966, when Hockney began a series of etchings based on love poems by the Greek/Alexandrian C.P. Cavafy. This extract is from a cut of the film made for the British Council; a director's cut under the original title Love's Presentation is available on the BFI DVD Every Picture Tells a Story.
